ASK is also dedicated to improving the quality of life in Kurdistan-Iraq’s cities through the Council for Development in Kurdistan Cities project. Launched in 2023, this initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and focuses on empowering citizens to participate actively in urban development and community improvement efforts.

The Council for Development aims to build a culture of civic engagement, where every resident feels empowered to contribute to the progress of their city, ensuring a sustainable and prosperous future for all.

Key objectives :

Participating in social and service initiatives to enhance the well-being of urban communities.

Ensuring that residents follow local laws and engage in local elections, playing an active role in the decision-making processes that shape their cities.

Facilitating communication between citizens and local officials through consultative sessions and public meetings, allowing for an open exchange of ideas and suggestions.

Inspiring and mobilizing the community to take action on issues like environmental preservation and urban development.
